POETRY
We have been looking at poetry this week and identifying
different poetic features.
1. Your task this
week is to see if you can identify five metaphors and five examples of
personification in the poems shown on this page.
2.
Then try and come up with five metaphors of your own to describe the
weather, e.g. the wind is a wolf in the night.

1. The snow is a carpet of ice crystals covering the earth.
2. The wind is a person urging you to run away.
3. The sun is a furnace on fire.
4. The frost is an evil person at work.
5. The rain is little eyes watching our every move.

The 5 metaphors are: looking glum, raindrop tears, that is crying, warmth spreads like a grin, the sun is smiling. The 5 examples of personification are: it is a gold coin, the sun is an orange dinghy, it is a red thumb print, it is a yellow beach ball, it is a gold top from a milk bottle.

2. I say that they are pouting. which mean the clouds is expressing his sadness and his anger like a persons facial expression.
3. But i feels its raindrop tears. which mean that the sky is crying like a person.
4. The sun is smiling. which means that the sun is smiling like a person.
5. The sky cheers up again. which means that the sky now is happy and in joy like a person.
The Weather:
1. Today the sun appeared with a smiling face in the morning to say good morning to all the school going children.
2. The naughty clouds came in misbehaving and disturbing the sun in the sky. The Sun got angry and shout at the naughty clouds
3. The clouds started to cry and the tears poured down till the end of school time.
4. The Moon then sang a song, the clouds stopped crying and got back to their homes.
5. The sun also with a smiling face dived into the sea to cool himself. so also the stars were happy and started to dance and sing in the night.
