We have been learning all about discussion texts and balanced arguments. For your homework this week, I'd like you to write a discussion of the following question: Do dogs make better pets than cats?
Remember to:
-Write an introduction that explains what you are discussing.
-Write arguments FOR and AGAINST, backed up with good reasons.
-Include a conclusion that sums up and explains your decision.
-Include conjunctions to add information to your argument (Furthermore, In addition, Indeed, Moreover).

ReplyDeleteWe have been descausing if dogs are beter than cats.lots of people are saing that cats are better. Others say dogs are better.Read on to find out.
Some people say that dogs are better beacuse they like plaing catch but cats can't. Moreover cats go away but dogs do not go away.More over dogs are more cuter than cats.
On the other hand most people say cats have more clever brains than dogs.Farther cats can climbe walls and dogs can not climbe walls.Moreover cats have more colors than dogs.#
Well I think that dogs are better because if you play foot ball they are very good at gool.

We have been disccusing if dogs are better than cats. It is vital we make a disisson to stop argguements wich end with a big fight.
Many pet owners believe that dogs make a better pet beacuse
they are more playful. In addition, some people believe dogs are better pets beacuse they are quicker. Furthermore, many dog owners claim dogs are better than cats beacuse they are more reliable. Moreover, many chilldren think dogs are better beacuse they have a better sent.
On the other hand, many pet owners suggest cats are better beacuse they can jump higher. In addition, many adults claim that cats are better beacuse if they wonder away they will come back. Furthermore, many pet owners claim cats are better beacuse they have better eye sight in the dark. Also, some people believe cats are better beacuse they are harder to train.
After having considerd all the arguments in my opinion I think that cats are better than dogs beacuse they give you a challenge if you try to train them.

Most people think that dogs make better pets than cats because dogs can help doctors. In addition, some people believe that dogs are cute. On the other hand, cats try their best to stay clean and the majority of people who think cats are cuter than dogs is not small! furthermore, dogs have a better feature of smelling. Additionally, cats can get stuck in trees.
Having considered all the arguments, I think cats are better pets even though cats can get stuck in trees.

ReplyDeleteWe are discussing whether or not dogs make better pets than cat.Some people believe that dogs do make better pets than cats although some people suggest that cats make better pets than dogs.It is crucial to decide which animal is better so we can all be happy and peaceful because of the decision.
The majority of people state that dogs are better than cats because:dogs can help people and are very playful,they can lead people who are hurt or blind to their destination and they have a good sense of direction.Plus dog owners are fit and healthy.
Ont he other hand,many pet owners state that cats are better pets than dogs because:they are very clean animals,they have a very good sense of direction and therefore if they are lost they can come back home with ease,they not as much as a threat like dogs and are not really dangerous plus,they are extremely sensible and cute.
People have different opinions but I think cats are better than dogs because they are less harmful and are very cute creatures.Therefore in my opinion cats are better than dogs.

Dogs or cats ?
ReplyDeleteMany people have pets like hamsters, fishes, cats, dogs and many others but today especially I would like to discuss about what makes a better pet between dogs and cats. Dogs are like children, they need a house, plenty of care, water, food and play.
One of the most common reason that many people chose to have dogs as opposed to cats it's for the simple reason that they are loyal. As puppies dogs are very cute and loving but some can grow aggressive if the owners doesn't treat them properly.
Cats have different ways to show their love with strange gestures by rubbing their heads against you or purring when you stroke them. They also keep you warm when they sleep on your lap on cold winter days. Cats are a must around the houses because they hunt, clean themselves and litter which makes them less maintenance. Also cats can jump from various different heights. But dogs can’t.
Furthermore cats are more sensible and soft to touch however we can not walk them like dogs, which might be also fun for the owner. Because fluffy is basically hairy it means that both dogs and cats are equal at this point, both lose a lot of hair depending on it's race.
I believe that dogs are better than cats because they are smarter than cats and in some cases they are trained to be guide dogs for bind people. They are a must around the house as they can offer protection and security. On the other hand dogs require a lot of time, attention and training so this is why they can be unsuitable and costly pets.
To conclude, dogs and cats are very different animals. It depends on what kind of pet a person would like to have and what is their lifestyle or how busy they are. Also a very important thing is that anybody considering to get a dog or a cat has to think carefully about whether or not they can look after it properly, as all animals deserve a good life and good treatment from their owners.

Furthermore, many people state that cats are better than dogs because they can clean themselves. However, some people claim that dogs are better than cats because they can do the most epic tricks that no other animal could do. For e.g.: be a guide dog and help people.
Conclusion:
To conclude this argument, I feel that Cats are better than dogs because lots of the dogs roll in the mud and get messy plus they shake all the mud on you, however, cats stay nice and clean.

ReplyDeleteWe have been discussing wether or not dogs make better pets than cats.Cats and dogs been pet for years.We need to make are end to the fighting of people about cats and dogs.
Here are some peoples opinions.Also,some people claim that dogs are better because children can play with them happily. However, many people state that dogs are nicer because they can keep you safe.Furthermore,dogs are fun to play with.
Whereas,many people think cats are better because they don't need to be looked after a lot.Also,some experts claim that cats wash there selfs. Furthermore,a few people believe that cats look nicer than dogs.
In conclusion,the majority of people say that dogs are better.more people think that cats are better.My personal opinion is that cats!!!!!!!!!!
In this discussion, I am going to give a balanced argument on the topic "Do dogs make better pets than cats?".
ReplyDeleteI suggest that dogs make better pets than cats because dogs are fun as the pet owners can take them out for walks and they will run with you, but there are very few cats that wear leashes because they do not like it. Also, when an owner calls the dog, it will respond to you, whereas a cat would not. Dogs like to be center of attention, whereas cats want to be left alone or they don't want their owner's attention as much as dogs do. Moreover, dogs are very loyal because they are like a family member. Unlike cats, dogs will always follow the pet owner everywhere and protect them.
On the other hand, some people may claim that cats make better pets than dogs because cats can also be trained the same as dogs and the pet owner can also play with them, but using different games. Cats are able to take care of themselves for more than 24 hours because they are considered to be independent animals that don't need too much attention. Therefore this is a huge plus point for the pet owners. In addition to this, cats have the ability to clean themselves, unlike dogs where pet owners have to consistently groom them. Therefore, this saves the cat owner a lot of money on grooming costs. Another reason is that cats do not need a lot of exercise compared to dogs because cats can roam around in the garden to complete their exercise regime, whereas dogs need regular exercise which is at least twice a day. Also cats make better pets than dogs because they have a quiet personality, whereas a dog has a very loud personality so they bark a lot, which could create a lot of problems in the neighborhood.
In conclusion, looking at both of the balanced arguments, I believe that dogs make better pets than cats, due to the fact that I have mentioned before, they have a loud personality, therefore this is a huge advantage to the pet owners because dogs are able to scare anyone who is trying to break into the house and also alert the owners through barking loudly. However, not many cats can be trained for this due to their quiet personality and so if someone does break into the house, a cat's first reaction would be to hide, but a dog's first reaction would be to bark and let the owners know about the situation.

Some people are against that because they think that cats are much cleaner than dogs.
furthermore, many people claim that cats are much safer and dont hurt people.
However, other people think that dogs are bettre than cats because dogs dont run away if they see somebody strange and they try to attack him.
In addition, some people claim that dogs are more cute than cats.
at the end, its a personal opinion and every one think in a different way that the other and in my opinion, i prefer dogs more than cats.

Many people state cats are better than dogs because they are not that noisy, they can jump higher and have better eyesight in the dark.
Dogs are better because:
Most people claim that dogs are better than cats because they are more fun to play with, much more cheaper than cats to buy and you will get more exercise and be healthy because you have to walk them twice everyday.
Cats are bad because:
A few people argue that cats are quite bad because they get lots of fleas, have lots of hairballs and there is a lot of hair on the furniture.
Dogs are bad because:
People feel that dogs are bad because than spread their urine everywhere, you still have to walk them even if it’s cold and when you want to go on a holiday without your dog you have to take him or her with you.
In conclusion, I believe dogs are better than cats because they are fun to play with.
