Explanation Texts
This week we have been learning about explanation texts. Your homework this week is to write a 2-3 paragraph letter to your teacher explaining why you have NOT done your homework.
Can you include some CAUSAL CONJUNCTIONS (because.....due to the fact that....owing to the fact that......since....as a result....so......subsequently.....consequently.....therefore.....this meant that.....this led to.....) to help to link your ideas.
I am looking forward to reading your excuses and explanations!

Why did you not do your homework. I didn't do my homework beacuse friend ripped it in half. Therefore I haven't done my homework. I did not do my homework due to the fact that my little borther threw it in the rivertemes. Therefore I haven't done my homework. I didn't do my homework beacuse my dog ate it. Consequently I haven't done my homework. I haven't done my homework beacuse my friend was talking to me all the time and I couldn't focus. Consequently I haven't done my homework.
I like the idea that you used the River Thames.

ReplyDeleteI haven't done my homework because my cat was so furious that she had the power to rip it all up into shreds.Plus,a Pheonix swooped down and flew away with it in order to bring the Greek god Hades something from the future.In conclusion,I had some writer's rash on my bum and couldn't sit down to do it.Shockingly,my dog was so hungry that he ate it all up.Since I fought in the Roman army 2,000 years ago I died and became a ghost.Subsequently,My little cousin came to my house and put the homework sheet in the recycling centre!I had to go to a wrestling match and fight the toughest guy,and if you think about it,I nearly died getting back.Owing to the fact that,I was making a human-sized robot that was extra strong and I spent 2 years doing that,so I didn't have the time to do it.Therefore,I haven't done my homework.

ReplyDeleteI have lots of reasons why I had not done my work. Firstly i had had to go to the hospital because I was ill. This is one reason why i did not do my work. More on my dog was hungry i did my homework on paper,but the dog ate it. Conseqently i have not done my homework. Moreover my laptop exploded,i could then not do my homework. This led to me not doing my work. Way on there was a fire in my house and it burned all the paper and the computer. This ment i could not do my homework.
I did not do my homework because the cat next door tore my sheet on the way to school. Therefor I did not do my homework. In addition my pens run out of ink. As a result i did not do my homework. More on i came runig to school and my sheet it fell out of my bag. there for i did not do my homework.

ReplyDeleteI did not do my homework. Here is how it all started. When I got home I yelled at my cat because she scratched my pokemon cards. As a result my cat got angry and wanted revenge. She knew that if I did not do my homework I would get a detention.
The next day my cat had to go to the Pet Grooming Salon. As a result there was no time for…. REVENGE!!! Then my cat thought “If I am going to take down my owner I will have to do it in STYLE!”. Toady was the day my cat’s plan was in action! She was sneaking into my bedroom getting close to my homework and then….. BLAM!!!! she ripped my homework!
So that is why I did not do my homework and also why I am in DETENTION!

DeleteI haven’t done my homework due to the fact that there was a power cut and I couldn’t see my work. In addition, there was a gorilla fighting a tiger and I thought ‘I t will be dangerous if I went inside. Plus, I had to walk my dog as my parents were busy.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t my homework owing to the fact that I was in a boat then it suddenly drifted out into sea. I couldn’t back until yesterday. While I going to get a drink of water, as I came back it had been ripped up by my dog.
When we had a fire my work flew into the flames. Consequently, I haven’t done my homework. My homework was so boring I couldn’t be bothered to do it. This led to me having no work in my hands today.

ReplyDeleteI have many reasons why I didn't do my homework.
first of all, when you give us the homework sheet, I put it in my desk and I forgot to bring it with me to home so as a result I didn't do my home work. the next day , when I went to school, I putted the homework sheet in my bag and bring it home but unfortunately on my way home, I forgot the bag in the car and my dad took the car so because of that I didn't do my homework .the next day, I took the bag from the car and I was about to start doing my homework, my sister came and took the homework sheet and ripe it into small pieces, so owing this fact I couldn't do me homework.

ReplyDeleteI didnt do my home work because my cat had vomated . there fore i had clean it hole night another point my dog ate the home work sheet subsequently he swolowed it due to the fact i needed to go shopping my mum couldnt go because she had a appointmen this meant that after i came from shopping i needed to go to a birthday party also when i came home my baby sister broke the computer moreover i didnt have time to do my home work because i broke my leg and arm and i was in the hospital i had to stayed there for 1 week this resulted iam often on detenton owing to the fact iam gonna remeber to do my other homework this weekend ....... i hope i dont get detension again .

ReplyDeleteI have not done my homework due to the fact that a lion came and ate my homework.Plus i saw a pigeon feed my homework to it's babies. Futhermore, there was a alien who destroyed my homework with a mega blaster lazer. Also the wind blew my homework onto the road and ripped my work in half.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that I did not do my homework.Here are my reasons.I did not do my homework due to the fact that I went to the hair salon.It took me 4 hours to cut my lushes hair. Therefore, I came back at 1 AM.Thats why I did not do my work.
Another reason why I did not do my work is because I needed to clean the whole house it has 15 floors!!!!!!! I went to a shop and by 600 cleaning supplies each.When I finished it was 7 AM. I DID NOT STOP CLEANING.That resulted in me not sleeping. Thats why I did not do my work. Miss Davies do you for give me?

ReplyDeleteI did not do my homework because my cat got sick at me I needed to clean myself 1 hour .As a result I got sick.Due to the fact that, I went to the shops and I was like crazy buying every thing .I did not stop!!!!!!!Suddenly !I wrote 100 pages but my brother ate it. therefor,I went to the hair salon and there was 300 people!!!!! owing to the fact that, I was playing games!Therefor homework is extremely boring!!!!!Consequently,I went to my friends house for the hold day.So I went to sleep at 4 AM!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI did n`t do my homework Due to the fact that, I had to get some money from the bank to my mum`s account. Furthermore,yesterday a little girl took my computer and splashed it with hot water and I was so angry that I had to go in the water and swim for it I did n`t even know how to swim.
On Saturday,I also had to go to my friend`s house to do my homework what you did on the blog.The bad news is that, an other child showed up and wanted to play with me and said it`s first word which was mother.Moreover, on the last day of the half term I went to my friends house again and I asked her if she had that cute, little, baby was with her and she drop some water on it and that`s how

Dear miss Davies First my little brother spilled water on the sheet additionally he broke my SHEET!!!. Also my cat scratched m computer so then I went for a night and day at my friend dad's wedding and I was the one that cleans the floor and table after a person fell on it also . WHY AM I IN DETENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI have not done my homework owing to the fact that my pet rabbit thought it was a piece of lettuce and ate it up. She just glared at me until I told her “bad rabbit”. I forgot that my rabbit understood me and she needed to get payback. Due to the fact that when I walked to school she got her paw and reached for the key. She grabbed the key and was free.
She saw the copy of my homework in my drawer. Then she took it out of the folder I put it in and with all her might she tore it into 60,000 pieces. I thought she would forget all about it. But I was WRONG!!!!!! Since I left there was lettuce all over the house. I was so furious that I kicked the wall so hard that my house was breaking. I understood that she didn’t mean it. I just saved her. But I was called to star in a movie and after the movie I forgot all about my homework. Therefore I have not done my homework.

Plus if you’re wondering where I am, ask the teacher and she’ll say “She’s in detention. So there is no need to panic. I will see you at lunch people at my table. Plus everyone else.

ReplyDeleteI have not done my homework because my hamster was sick and we had to go to the vets to see what’s wrong with him. This led me not doing my homework. Moreover my cat vomited on the laptop and it stopped working. Consequently I did not do my homework . In addition to that I had to do it on paper whilst I was doing it on paper, I paused to go to the toilet but when I was in the toilet my cat decided to shred my work and I didn’t have time to do it all over again. Subsequently I did not do my homework. Furthermore I did not do my homework ow to the fact that the chimney had a bird nest on top of it and I had to get it down so that it started to work again. As a result I had not done my homework and that’s why I’m stuck In detention. I’m really sorry about it, this will never happen again.
