Homework due Friday, 8th December

Your homework this week is to use the story map to write the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. You don’t need to write it word for word- use what you remember from the story. Can you include description of the hero, villain and setting? Can you include some adverbials to describe when, where or how something happened? Eg, ‘Early one morning’, ‘At the top of the hill..’ ‘Maliciously,…’.

In the early morning a muscular soldier went to a country called Livea. When he reached Livea. there was a large dragon.Dragon has a nasty body. The dragon has a head of a lion. He has flies on his head. Dragon has a long fat tongue and sharp claws as knives. The evil dragon was grabbing the hot, barney country. When there was no food the dragon starts eating and swallowing the people. The dragon kidnapped the queen of Egypt. Though a powerful and strong man called, George came to rescue her. George has peach skin, back hair and ginger eyes. He has a sharp sword and a strong shield.George went bravely to an island. When he reached livea George looked at the princess. She was waiting for someone to rescue her. She has pale but chubby face. She has chestnut brown glossy hair, rosy cheeks and pink lips. She also has a sparkly purple dress and stained glass slippers. Well when the dragon kidnapped her she had messy hair, pale dirty skin and parched lips. The princess also had a ripped purple dress and rough bare feet.

When the dragon heard the horse was skipping, the dragon came out and roared like thunder. George was not afraid. The dragon scales were as hard as rock. So the shield broke into pieces. Surprisingly, George fell to the floor but he did not give up. Then George took his sword and pierced under the dragon's wing where there were no scales.
Finally, the dragon died. George was rewarded by the king to get married to the princess.

  2. Early one morning, the strong strapping St. George set towards Libya. When he got there, he found a colossal pond sparkling like silver where a ferocious dragon lived. The demonic dragon was terrorising the hot and balmy country. Every day, the people were feeding the dragon leftover food to stop it maliciously eating them up. When the food ran out, the dragon wanted to gobble up the people. However, one day the dragon caught the divine princess of Egypt, ready to eat her up, unless a brave and fearless knight could save her. The king of Egypt had promised he daughter’s hand to the noble knight who could miraculously kill the vicious dragon.
Feeling determined, St George bravely rode out to the pond. When he arrived, he found the princess waiting to be eaten up by the dragon. Wiping sweat from his brow, St. George freed the princess and sent her to the plush elegant palace and came back to the cave.
When the dragon heard St. George’s horse steps approaching towards his cave, he jumped out and roared menacingly which made a boom sound. St George was not afraid and he hit the dragon with his sword but the dragon’s scales were as hard as a diamond and the sword simply broke into pieces. Shockingly, St. George fell off his horse but did not give up. Instead, he picked up his sword and slayed it under the dragon’s wing where there were no spiky scales. Limply, the dragon fell to the ground with a thump and St. George was rewarded the princess’s hand in marriage.
