Homework due Friday, 23rd February





We will be celebrating book week after half term. Please read as much as you can over the holidays. Please complete the book review and come back prepared to talk about your favourite book so that we can celebrate our love of reading! Have a great break.

    Describe the characters and their traits:
    First there is Molly the brave and fearless dreamer and her wildcat Gryff who would do anything to save Molly.
    Then there is her friend Siddy,He is very fond of animals like Porridge the second(an earthworm) and Hermit (a Crab ),after that there's Alfie who is not real and invisible to strangers, and finally there is Scrap the smugglers daughter.

    Setting
    The story is set in Little Hollows which is a cave on the coast.

    Atmosphere and Mood.
    The atmosphere is tense and the mood is scary.

    Literary Effects
    The sea slapped against its marbled base.(alliteration)

    The first stars emerged blinking brighter than they had in weeks.(personification)

    Devil's Drop appeared, thundering down, a wall of furious water.(metaphor)

    Favourite part.
    My favourite part was when Molly and Siddy entered a cave and they discovered the amulet of truth.

    What happened in the story.
    The group of friend had to crack the code and go into Devil's Drop without being seen by the magical Shadow Masks and find the amulet of truth.

    Favourite part: When the four children and all the magical characters go into the land of dreams.

    What happened in the story:
    This is a story of 4 children who went to a wood called the Enchanted Wood. In the enchanted woods, they go through a series of magical and adventurous journeys. In one of the adventures, they go to the Land of presents where they can take presents for anyone they wish to. In the land of do-as-you-please, they can do anything that they want and in the Land of Topsy-Turvy everybody is upside down. The book is full of fun as the children go through these adventures.

    Describe the characters and their traits:
    Gemma is Alice friend and her hobby is football, she is more likely to be talking.
    Alice's friends are Gemma and Flora, Alice was Gemma's friend ever since but she makes a new friend flora.
    Flora is only Alice's friend and she is very nice to Alice (but Gemma does not like Flora).
    Setting:
    The setting was at a small apartment were Gemma lived. Alice's house was in Scotland a big beautiful house.
    Atmosphere-Mood:
    The atmosphere was emotional and the book had a happy ending.

    My favourite part:
    My favourite part in this book was when Alice gave Gemma a birthday card with a sweet note expressing her feelings towards her friend and the beautiful bracelet as the present to Gemma.
    What happend in the story?
    Gemma and Alice have been best friends since they were born.It never seems to matter that Gemma loves football while Alice prefers drawing or that Gemma never stops talking while Alice is more likely to be listening.They share everything.Then one day Gemma finds out that there is something Alice isn't sharing,and when Gemma discovers what it is, she isn't sure if she and Alice can stay best friends forever..
