Blog Homework due Friday, 18th November

Book Reviews
This week your task is to write a book review. It should include:

·Title and author

·What the book was about

·What you thought of the book

·What ages/types of people you think should read it

·If you would recommend it to a friend

Here is an example book review:

If I Never Endeavour by Holly Meade

This book was about a bird who didn't yet know how to fly.

The bird has to decide if it will try to fly, but it was not sure if it wants to. The bird thought, "If I never  endeavour," then I won't ever learn. On one wing, he worries he might fail and on the other wing he thinks of how he may succeed. He worries that if he tries, he may get lost in the world. That makes him want to stay in his nest where he's safe.

I think this book would help other children to learn that trying new things can be scary, but sometimes when we try, we can find things that make us happy too. And this book will help others know that mistakes are okay and part of learning.

My favourite part is that the bird tried and learned that she could fly. I also liked that I read this book because it gave me a chance to talk to people about making mistakes and how I don't like making them. Then I learned they are good and part of learning.

Boys and girls who are 3 to 8 years old would like this book because it teaches about trying a new thing and how it's important to get past being scared so you can learn new things.

I give the book 5 stars since I think it's important for other children to learn about courage.

  1. The 13 Story Treehouse by Andy Gryffiths

This book was about two boys Andy and Terry who lived in the 13 storey treehouse.
They had lots of fun levels there. There was a lemonade fountain, bowling alley,
games room, secret underground laboratory,a giant catapult, a swimming pool and
many more. They really had good fun at their treehouse but they also cough
    book about their adventures.

I think this book was really funny. It is only the first part and each next book has 13 more levels .I hope the author does not stop writing those books.

I think everyone who likes to laugh would enjoy this book. My favourite part was when Terry made a big bubble gum and suddenly was inside his own bubble gum and then he started to float higher and higher.

  2. The Seven Habits of Happy Kids
    By Sean Covey

    Sleepy Sophie:

This book is about an intelligent Squirrel called Sophie who loves reading books too much and never takes time off to do anything else. Since she doesn’t sleep well at night when she is supposed to (Instead of sleeping she reads books) she sleeps in class.

I think this book would help kids learn to keep their life balanced by using their heart for when they play with friends, their body for exercise and their soul for when they find something quiet to do that makes them fresh inside.

My favourite part is when Sophie stopped reading too many books and had a fun day out with her friends colouring, cycling, relaxing by the lake and finally does some reading again.

I think children between the ages of 5-9 should read this brilliant book because it teaches them how to have a balanced life.

I give the book 5 stars and I recommend that many children should read it so that they can have a cheerful life using their heart, body, soul and mind.

  5. The Rainbow Fish written by Marcus Pfister

It was a book about a rainbow fish that had the most beautiful scales in the entire ocean.

A little blue fish asked if he could have one of her scales. The Rainbow fish said "Get away from me" and the little blue fish told the whole ocean what she said and they all swam away from her.

Then she gave one scale to every fish. This book was about sharing.

I thought this book was really good and it would help children to share.

    By Abi Elphinstone
Moll is the main character in this book. She has had many adventures but none as dangerous as this one!Moll has a pet wildcat called Gryff and he always follows her wherever she goes.Gryff has a large muscular body and long banded legs. His coat was thick and grey with jet black stripes and his tail was long and bushy.

  7. Horrid Henry by Francesca Simon

This book is about a boy named Henry cheating in a book competition.

In Horrid Henry's school there was a competition about book reading. They had to read as much book as they can in two weeks time. Henry forgot to list his books down so instead he wrote down fake books. At the end there was a tie between Clare and Henry.
